Millions of voters went to the polls in November secure in the belief that President Barack Obama had saved the economy from another Great Depression and that growth would improve in his second term. He had, after all, inherited a mess from George W. Bush and the failed free-market economics of Romney's Republicans.

Oh--what's that? The economy was busy collapsing in November? Negative growth in Q4? What? But... but...

In response to Editing history:

John Hayward asks:

How many of these phony lefty legends become "conventional wisdom" through force of repetition, long after we right-wing killjoys debunk them?  How many low-information voters still think Mitt Romney cheated on his taxes, or Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house?

Frum

David Frum's photo...

...has that frisson of naturalness and reality that the covers of college guidebooks have, you know, where there's four people sitting* on the steps of The Quad, all laughing joyously at something just wonderful in a textbook, and the four people are, in order, in every single college guidebook photo, an Asian Girl, a Nonthreatening Black Guy (possibly in a colorful neo-Cosbian sweater), a Hispanic Guy**, and a Somewhat "Alternative" White Guy With a Unicycle Slung Over His Back.

We should be playing the long game

The Hill ran a piece this morning entitled: Unions, Hollywood open to bankrolling Obama's advocacy arm

In it, we learn that Obama's traditional deep pocket financial supporters will be working with Organizing for Action, to advocate for Obama's agenda.  Organizing for America is the new operation formally known as the Obama for America campaign. In addition, OfA is a 501c4 corporation which means that there is no donor disclosure. Lack of donor disclosure is sometimes a "bad thing" and when I say sometimes I mean if you are a center-right c4.

Media Bias

The asymmetrical mythology battlefield

In response to Re: Editing History:

One of the big disadvantages conservatives face is that we still don't get to conduct that kind of "prosecution," even when we've got the facts on our side.  We've made huge strides in the realm of influencing media narrative, since the Rathergate days... but sometimes I think the mainstream media has been working to inoculate itself against further Rathergates, with some success.  The Left can push a phony story faster and further than the Right can push a true one.
