Iowahawk's Story is Red-Hot, But... It Ultimately Comes from Infowars

Feb 8, 2013 10:45 AM PT

I just linked this story on my blog, and a reader, @tsrblke, let me know that if you click through all the way, the "news report" the Examiner (not the Washington Examiner, but that online Examiner outfit) cites turns out to be a post at conspiracy-monger Alex Jones' Infowars.

It's a great story-- but until, say, Breitbart's Kerry Picket or Matt Boyle can confirm it, we probably ought not to treat it as true.

Hillary Clinton Tops Obama's in Polls

Feb 8, 2013 10:12 AM PT

In response to Latest Polls Put Obama's Approval Under 50%:

So, I just finished up another panel discussion with HuffPost Live, and one of the topics covered was Hillary Clinton's high approval ratings. "Because I believe that is a growth agenda -- not just an equity agenda, not just a fairness agenda -- that is a growth agenda," he said.

Righteous power

Feb 8, 2013 9:25 AM PT

In response to Nick Gillespie's brilliant insight about journalists' hypocrisy on drones:

I added a few thoughts about Gillespie's fine piece here.  (Special guest appearance by Ace, because I thought immediately of something he wrote the other day when I was reading Gillespie.)  I've always been fascinated by the intersection of left-wing politics and power worship.  It seems initially contradictory, because they talk so often of their appetite for individual "freedom," in areas they think judgmental conservative busybodies want to invade... but time and again, they fall head-over-heels for authoritarian rulers, and their domestic policy agenda is all about power and control.
