20-Year-Old Female Admits to Prostituting 15-Year-Old in Texas

20-year-old Amber Doak of San Antonio pled guilty in federal court on Wednesday to one count of sex trafficking a 15-year-old female in August 2013.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Breitbart Texas, filed on September 1, 2013, the victim met 38-year-old Marcus Deshawn Wright of San Antonio–an alleged co-conspirator of Doak–at a bus stop in August. Wright told the victim he could help her make substantial sums of money. The minor victim expressed interest and the two exchanged phone numbers. On August 23, the victim took a cab to a Days Inn where she met Wright and Doak.

In court, Doak admitted that she took photos of the teen victim at the Days Inn and then posted them to Backpage.com, a website where she advertised the 15-year-old’s “services,” according to available records obtained by Breitbart Texas. Backpage.com is commonly used to post ads for questionable jobs and illegal acts, such as sex for money, according to the FBI release. Often such posts are disguised as “escort” advertisements.

The sworn complaint obtained details how after receiving responses to the online ads, Doak would then drive the 15-year-old to meet with various men to perform sex acts. Wright and 21-year-old Malcom Deandre Copeland regularly assisted Doak with the 15-year-old’s transportation to and from various “jobs.” Doak alleged that Wright also provided her with the cell phone that was used to take the BackPage.com photos of the victim.

The criminal complaint states that the victim was also sexually assaulted by Wright despite verbal resistance.

The indictment for the case obtained by Breitbart Texas states, “Marcus Deshawn Wright, Malcolm Deandre Copeland, and Amber Doak did knowingly, in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce, recruit, entice, harbor, transport, provide, obtain and maintain, by any means a person, that is T.J., knowing, and in reckless disregard of the fact, that T.J. had not attained the age of 18 years and would be caused to engage in a commercial sex act.”

According to FBI reports, Doak could spend 10 years to life in prison for her now admitted-to crime. Doak’s sentencing is set for September 12, 2014. Wright and Copeland remain in federal custody and will appear before Judge Biery on April 7. They each face one count of sex trafficking.
