Cecile Richards Lied About Mammograms, Finally Comes Clean

One of the arguments Cecile Richards has trotted out in the past whenever Planned Parenthood funding is challenged is that women would lose basic health care, including mammograms. In testimony under oath before the House Oversight Committee, Cecile Richards finally came clean about the mammogram lie. She said repeatedly to the House panel that her organization and none of its facilities do mammograms.

Planned Parenthood Chief Denies Her Own Statistics

During her testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Planned Parenthood chief Cecile Richards was presented a chart showing how Planned Parenthood breast exams have plummeted at the same time that abortions have increased. The chart shows that 2006 to 2013, Planned Parenthood cancer screenings dropped from 2,007,371 to 935,573, a drop of more than 50 percent.

No Shutdown: Senate Sends Bill Keeping Gov’t Open To House

The Senate passed a temporary spending measure Wednesday, sending the bill over to the House for final passage before government funding expires at midnight. The continuing resolution funds government through December 11 and will allow congressional negotiators more time to agree on a budget deal. It does not defund Planned Parenthood as many Republicans desired, and averts a shutdown for now.

Australia Blocks Travel for Pro-Lifer Who Helped Produce Baby-Parts Videos

Troy Newman was removed from a United Airlines fight from Denver to Los Angeles and was told by a gate agent that the “Australian Embassy” had canceled his visa. The United agent told Newman the Australian Embassy told “us to stop you.” Newman has the exchange on video tape. Newman said he and his wife were on the plane to L.A. when he was removed.

Cecile Richards: ‘Abortion is Healthcare’

Stating on numerous occasions that she was trying to be as cooperative as possible with the committee, Cecil Richards nevertheless evaded some questions about Planned Parenthood’s abortion business, often responding she “did not know” the answer to questions a CEO might be expected to know. At one point, as Live Action president Lila Rose tweeted, she was asked if babies who survive abortions should be given medical care, Richards replied, “I have never heard of such a circumstance happening.”
