Alitalia had some 170 million euros (267 million dollars) at the end of March, the board said in a statement.
It said the airline "welcomed (Monday's) statement by Air France and the calling of a meeting between its unions and the government on Thursday."
On Monday, Air France-KLM said its offer for Alitalia was the only one capable of returning the struggling airline to profitable growth and it was now up to the unions and workers to decided what the next step was.
The talks broke down last week when Air France-KLM, whose offer initially entailed the loss of 2,100 jobs, and the unions failed to agree on a way forward.
