CAIRO, Aug. 24 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Twenty people were killed and 10 wounded as bombs planted on two buses exploded in the southern Iraqi town of Kut on Monday, news media reported.

The buses were on their way to Kut, a mainly Shi'ite Muslim area 150 kilometers southeast of Baghdad, said the reports.

Iraq has been plagued with a series of bombings in the past months. Truck bombs that hit central Baghdad last Wednesday killed more than 100 people.
