Officials from the two cities heard explanations from the JOC for about two hours on what the International Olympic Committee will request of them, including planning for infrastructure and other basic details concerning competition venues.
"We had them understand the basic Olympic standards such as the IOC's requirement that a city at least prepare accommodations of 40,000 rooms," said Yasuhiro Nakamori, a high-ranking JOC official.
Seiji Iwasaki, who heads a panel studying the feasibility of Hiroshima and Nagasaki co-hosting the 2020 Olympics, said the topic of realizing a joint bid was not discussed.
