BEIJING, Nov. 6 (AP) - (Kyodo)—The number of North Korean reports on leader Kim Jong Il's activities since the beginning of this year totaled 131 as of Friday, hitting an all-time high.

The previous record was 129 reports logged in 2005.

Of the total for this year, Kim has given field guidance to a total of 51 economic-related sites this year, more than twice the level last year, apparently due to a 150-day campaign to rebuild the economy that ended Sept. 16 and a subsequent 100-day campaign through Dec. 31.

Kim's frequent appearance in the media is also believed aimed at allaying concerns about his health.
