Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Singapore next Wednesday on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation ministerial meeting, government sources said Friday.
Their meeting will focus on the relocation of the U.S. Marine Corps' Futemma Air Station in Okinawa Prefecture and support measures for Afghanistan.
The meeting will come ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama's trip to Tokyo on Nov. 12 to 13.
Okada initially planned to visit the United States this week for talks with Clinton but gave up due mainly to Japan's parliamentary schedule.
