NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (AP) - (Kyodo)—The U.S. dollar dipped to a three-week low in the upper 89 yen in New York on Friday on renewed concern over the U.S. economy following a rise in the October jobless rate.

The dollar fell to 89.60 yen before trading at 89.83-93 yen at 5 p.m. against 90.45-46 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.

The euro traded at $1.4843-4853 and 133.37-47 yen at 5 p.m. versus $1.4876-4878 and 134.56-60 yen in late Tokyo trading.

The dollar came under downward pressure after the Labor Department reported the jobless rate for October climbed to 10.2 percent, the highest in 26 years and six months, market analysts said.
