3 die in residential fire in Okayama+

OKAYAMA, Japan, Nov. 9 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Three people died in a residential fire in Niimi, Okayama Prefecture, Monday morning, police said.

They are believed to be Takako Ikeda, 67, and her two grandchildren -- Ayaka, 13, and Kein, 7, the police said. Ikeda's husband, Kameo, 68, escaped the fire, but was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

The four lived together, while the parents of the two children lived apart, according to the police. They are investigating details.
