TOKYO, Nov. 12 (AP) - (Kyodo)—The number of new condominiums put up for sale in the greater Tokyo area declined 20.1 percent from a year earlier to 3,386 units in October following a 26.2 percent jump in September, a research agency said Thursday.

While supply rose sharply in Tokyo's 23 wards and Saitama Prefecture, the double-digit falls in the rest of Tokyo and Kanagawa and Chiba prefectures brought down the overall figure, according to the Real Estate Economic Institute.

Of total condos that went on sale, 69.0 percent found buyers, up 6.0 percentage points from a year before and climbing for the second straight month.

Condo prices averaged 46.19 million yen, down 4.7 percent.

In Osaka and five surrounding prefectures, the new condo supply totaled 2,003 units, down 7.4 percent and a decrease for the sixth month in a row, the institute said.

Of those condos, 62.4 percent were sold with the percentage staying above 60 percent for the sixth consecutive month.

The average of condo prices came to 31.17 million yen, down 13.2 percent.
