Man Allegedly Causes Crash with Kentucky State Trooper Then Shoots, Killing the Officer

A suspect who allegedly killed a Kentucky State Police trooper was himself killed after he refused to put down his weapon. On the night of September 13 Kentucky State Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder was in a high speed case when the suspect–25-year-old Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks–is alleged to have purposely slammed on his brakes. This caused Ponder’s cruiser to crash into Johnson-Shanks’ vehicle, after which Johnson-Shanks opened fire, hitting the trooper with multiple shots.

Arizona DPS Identifies ‘Person of Interest’ in Freeway Shootings

On September 11, Breitbart News reported that Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials had taken a “person of interest” into custody as a result of the investigation into freeway shootings near downtown Phoenix. On Saturday, officials identified the person as 19-year-old Oscar de la Torre Munoz, of Avondale, AZ, but were quick to point out that they believe multiple shooters–and multiple motives–could be involved.

Confirmed: 11 Shootings in 13 Days on Phoenix Freeways

Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials have now confirmed a total of 11 shootings in 13 days on Phoenix freeways. The only injury to this point is a cut received by a 13-year-old from a piece of glass from a shattered windshield.
