Bill Introduced to Make Texas More Appealing to Tesla

Texas State Senator Kelly Hancock (R-North Richland Hills) introduced a bill to allow Tesla Motors to directly sell vehicles to consumers. The bill would allow the automaker to bypass franchise dealerships they consider to be an unnecessary middleman. The Texas House introduced an identical companion bill.

Texas Family Doesn’t Understand Why Police Shot Man Pointing Gun at Them

HOUSTON, Texas – The family of a Texas man who allegedly pointed a gun at police after robbing and pistol-whipping another man, doesn’t understand why the police shot him. Danny Miguel Saul, a 29-year-old man from Tomball, Texas, is in the hospital after being shot by local police officers. The officers responded to a call about a robbery and assault. When Saul allegedly hid in the bushes with his gun and then pointed the gun at police, they fired at least eleven rounds.

Texas’ political leaders responded quickly to Governor Greg Abbott’s first State of the State Address. Abbott delivered his historic speech before a packed Texas House gallery and a joint session of the Legislature. The Governor called on the legislature to double funding for securing the border between Texas and Mexico.

A Donna Independent School District (ISD) police sergeant was reinstated to his position after an improper suspension. The sergeant was suspended improperly by the district’s assistant superintendent without approval from the superintendent as part of what appears to be political retaliation and a power-play to get rid of the superintendent.

Breitbart Texas Witnesses DPS Troopers Saving Two Salvadorian Young Women from Likely Sexual Slavery

Breitbart Texas witnessed the capture of two young women from El Salvador who had just entered the United States illegally. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers observed the two females emerging from the brush along the bank of the Rio Grande River in Anzalduas Park. Their capture prevented the two from the likelihood of being forced into the sexual slavery that many young women from this region have faced.

Texas Islamic Tribunal ‘Lawyers’ Appear to be Practicing without License

Breitbart Texas has learned the four Islamic Tribunal “lawyers” in Dallas do not appear to be licensed to practice law in Texas. A search of the State Bar of Texas’ membership lookup revealed the four men are not listed as members of the Bar. Breitbart Texas confirmed this search in a conversation with the Bar’s membership department who claimed they had no membership listing for the four individuals.

Texas Rep Files Bill to Repeal DPS Fingerprinting Non-Criminal Drivers

Texas State Representative Tony Tinderholt (R-Arlington) filed a bill on Friday that would stop the practice by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) of fingerprinting all ten digits of all drivers. The DPS policy changed from only collecting thumbprints to collecting all ten digits in 2014. Privacy advocates immediately began to clamor about this privacy invasion. Tinderholt, who campaigned on transparency and government accountability, introduced this bill, HB 871, as his first piece of legislation as a freshman state rep.

Texas Judge Stops Profiteering Over Lee Harvey Oswald’s Casket

A Tarrant County District Court Judge put a stop to the attempted profiteering of a funeral home that sold the casket of murdered presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in an auction in 2010. The outraged judge also ruled the Baumgardner Funeral Home acted maliciously by auctioning off the casket and ordered the funeral home to pay over $87,000 in damages along with other expenses to Oswald’s brother, Robert Oswald.
