Immigration Removal Officer: ‘Significant Portion Of Our Time’ Spent On Exec. Amnesty

An immigration officer working in ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division says “a significant portion” of officers’ times is now spent helping people determine eligibility for executive amnesty and reviewing cases rather than enforcing the law. In an email a congressional office shared exclusively with Breitbart News on the condition of anonymity, an unnamed ERO supervisor highlights the irony of the Obama administration’s argument that ICE lacks resources to remove and detain people when so much of officers’ time is spent enacting the administration’s executive orders.

Boehner To Obama: You’ve Said You Lack Authority For Executive Amnesty

During congressional leaders’ meeting with President Obama Tuesday, House Speaker John Boehner highlighted that the president has said numerous times that he lacks the authority to enact executive amnesty. According to the his office, Boehner stressed that the House would move forward with the Department of Homeland Security funding bill and that it would include amendments that will combat Obama’s executive amnesty.

House Republicans Move To Fight Executive Amnesty

House Republicans expect to vote on legislation to take on President Obama’s executive actions on immigration next week. The GOP plan, Politico reports, will be unveiled Friday and will use the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill to take on not only Obama’s November executive amnesty but also the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhoods Arrivals and the Morton memos by blocking their funding.

Record 92,898,000 Americans Not In The Workforce

A record 92,898,000 Americans 16 years and older did not participate in the labor force last month, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. While the level of labor force participation declined — due not only to potentially discouraged workers but also baby boomers hitting retirement age — the BLS reported Friday that in December the unemployment rate declined to 5.6 percent and payroll jobs increased by 252,000.

Administration Releases Multilingual Fliers To Raise Awareness Of Exec. Amnesty

The Obama administration released two fliers Thursday in a variety of different languages aimed at raising awareness of President Obama’s executive amnesty. The first flier warns against immigration scams: “Beware of anyone who offers to help you submit an application or request at this time based on the President’s announcement—it may be an immigration scam,” it reads.
