Donald Trump Rejects Joint Letter, Will Deal Directly With Networks on Debates

The Washington Post reports – and ABC News has since confirmed – Donald Trump “will reject a joint letter to television network hosts regarding upcoming primary debates drafted Sunday at a private gathering of operatives from at least 11 presidential campaigns” and instead will negotiate directly as regards the “format and content” of the Republican Party’s primary debates.

GOP Turns on McConnell as Cruz Blasts Him from Senate Floor

Sen Ted Cruz blasted Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from the Senate floor last night and has been expressing his displeasure with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for some time. Now it appears as though the Republican base is joining Cruz in his displeasure with McConnell, who is often seen as a weak leader by Conservatives.

Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign is fed up with a “messy debate process” put together by Reince Priebus’ seemingly incompetent Republican National Committee. Politico’s GOP Insiders Think Donald Trump May Be The Nominee

It wasn’t all that long ago that many of the same “early state” operatives and strategists had Trump pegged for an early primary exit. The news that Donald Trump is increasingly likely to win the GOP nomination is likely to force some of the establishment forces dogging him to recalibrate. Say what they will, there’s no way operatives and strategists are going to want to be frozen out from feeding at the general election trough should Trump become their party’s standard bearer next Fall.
