Colin Kaepernick

Michael Vick Issues Clarification After Receiving Backlash for Telling Kaepernick to ‘Get a Haircut’

Michael Vick had quite a busy day on Monday. First, on FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Vick claimed that Colin Kaepernick’s play, and not his anthem protest. Best explained why the former 49er doesn’t have a job right now. Then, on FS1’s Speak for Yourself, Vick opined that Kaepernick might need to “get a haircut” in order to ‘try to be presentable.”

OJ Simpson

ESPN Will Air OJ Simpson’s Thursday Parole Hearing

It’s no secret that July is the dead-zone in the world of sports. The NFL hasn’t started yet, the NBA just ended, and MLB isn’t really serious yet. However, I wasn’t aware things had become this bad. ESPN, among other networks, has decided to air O.J. Simpson’s parole hearing from the Lovelock Correctional Facility on Thursday. Not only that, ESPN will lead-in to the parole hearing with a 90-minutespecial presentation of Outside the Lines, hosted by Jeremy Schaap.

Fenway Park to Host Large Tribute for Vietnam Vets

Boston’s famous Fenway Park will host a touching tribute to Vietnam veterans on Saturday. Prior to the Red Sox game against the Yankees, more than 1,300 Vietnam vets and their families will be honored. The ceremony will include Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul LaCamera and other military representatives.

OJ Simpson

Prosecutor: OJ Simpson Will ‘Probably Be Paroled’

OJ Simpson will soon be a free man. Well, a paroled man anyway.

That prediction comes from a man perhaps, most singularly responsible for putting him behind bars. David Roger, the prosecutor who won a robbery conviction against Simpson in 2008, says he believes the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners will let the juice loose.

Roger told the New York Post, “The guy did a lot of time on a robbery charge, I expect he’ll probably be paroled.”

Tony Romo

Tony Romo on Speculation of His NFL Return: ‘I’m Done’

If you happened to be sitting there, wondering whether Tony Romo will make an NFL comeback. Well, you should probably stop that. At least, that’s what Tony Romo says. During an appearance Wednesday on NFL Total Access, Romo shot down any speculation of a return to football.

Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow Has an 8-Game Hit Streak

Don’t look now, but Tim Tebow may have figured out this whole baseball thing. Tebow has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games for the Mets High-A ball minor league affiliate at Port St. Lucie. He also currently has an eight game win streak going.

The AP compiled a list of Tebow’s stats last week and for the season. Here’s a sampling of the damage that the Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback has done since getting promoted to High A-ball:

HIGHLIGHTS: Tebow was clutch at the plate this week, with a two-out, three-run double against Fort Myers on Monday, a home run (part of a back-to-back) to help the Mets beat Charlotte on Wednesday, and he had an RBI double and eventually scored in the Mets’ three-run fourth inning that carried them to a 3-2 win over Jupiter on Saturday.

Joe Montana ‘Not Sure’ Whether Kaepernick Plays in NFL Again

Joe Montana is not exactly high on Colin Kaepernick’s chances of ever playing in the NFL again. In an interview with the SportingNews.com, the Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champion, outlined the reasons why bringing in the former anthem-protestor might become problematic for a football team.

Former NFL Player Finds Stability in Career with Secret Service

Players normally find themselves in all kinds of different jobs after leaving the NFL, but very few find themselves in the position of helping to defend the leader of the free world. Yet that’s exactly what happened to former Atlanta Falcon and current Secret Service member Kevin Youngblood.

Baltimore Ravens Lead the League in Drug Test Suspensions

It’s the NFL offseason, where score is kept not on an actual scoreboard where the hopes and dreams of fans rise and fall with every fourth quarter red zone snap, but instead here in the time between the draft and the preseason we keep score by one metric and one metric alone: drug test suspensions.
