Source of Car Fire at Texas Capitol Under Investigation

A car burst into flames just outside of the Texas State Capitol in Austin right after 2 p.m. on Friday. The car was parked on the south side of the Capitol outside the entrance to the building. The source of the car fire, and any danger to the building, or those in it, is under investigation.

Anonymous to Protest Saturday in 35 US Cities — Threaten Cops, ‘No Mercy for Murderers’

A YouTube video message purportedly by the group Anonymous has issued a warning for U.S. police chiefs, Waller County police, and in particular, the Waller County Sheriff’s Department. In a threatening demand, the group told the Waller Sheriff’s Office, “We all know where you live. No mercy for murders.” The group plans protests in 35 cities throughout the U.S. on Saturday, August 8th.

Twin Peaks bikers are fighting a gag order in Waco, Texas, and they are fighting the prosecution’s persistent and flagrant use of terms such as “outlaw bikers,” “biker gangs,” and “outlaw biker gangs” when referring to motorcycle riders and all of the bikers in Waco that day. They cite legal opinions that prevent such “guilt by association” arguments by the State.

Sandra Bland Hearing: Texas’ Top Cop Told ‘A Lot of People are Afraid of You Guys’

The Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Steve McCraw, was told during a Texas House committee investigatory hearing – “A lot of people are afraid of you guys.” The hearing was called in the wake of the arrest of Sandra Bland by a Texas DPS trooper. The comment came from staunch conservative State Representative Jonathan Stickland (R-Bedford).

Texas Senate Investigates Planned Parenthood over Sales of Aborted Baby Body Parts

The Texas Senate Health and Human Services committee began their investigation on aborted baby body part sales and questioned witnesses at the state Capitol for over four hours on Wednesday. The committee met to examine the business practices and regulatory structure of Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas, and to investigate whether state or federal laws were broken with regard to the donation and/or sale of fetal tissue.

The committee investigates the business practices of the abortion provider. Pro-lifers across America are gathering today at what has been dubbed “#WomenBetrayedRally.” The rallies, in more than 70 cities across the nation, come in the wake of the release of undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing the harvesting and sale of baby body parts. They are calling on state and federal officials to investigate and defund Planned Parenthood.
