Legal Expert On Whether Donations to Clinton Foundation Are Bribes: If It ‘Quacks Like a Duck, Chances Are It Is a Duck’

Should either the FBI or the Department of Justice, under recently confirmed Attorney General Loretta Lynch, fail to launch an investigation of this transaction, both will be vulnerable to charges that a double standard of selective investigation and prosecution exists. If you’re Hillary Clinton and engage in questionable behavior, you get a free pass. If you’re someone else—say, a conservative or an opponent of President Obama’s foreign policy, such as Senator Robert Mendez (D-NJ)– you will be investigated and prosecuted.

DOJ Opposes Change of Venue in Sen. Menendez Corruption Trial

The federal government argues that Menendez should be tried by his New Jersey constituents and peers. “Robert Menendez, a United States Senator elected to represent the people of New Jersey, has filed a motion seeking to avoid being tried by a jury of his peers in the State of New Jersey. The Court should not permit this,” the brief notes.

EXCLUSIVE – Barney Frank Confirms: No Congressional Oversight of Clinton Cash Uranium Deal

Retired Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) tells Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that while he served as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Congress exercised no oversight over the activities of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). The portrait of Frank that emerges from the exclusive Breitbart interview is of someone totally disinterested in exercising Congressional oversight responsibilities over any CFIUS approved transactions.

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) has sent a letter to Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew asking for answers on the 2010 approval by the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS) of a controversial deal in which the Russian government gained control of 20 percent of America’s uranium deposits.

Menendez Asks for Change of Venue in Public Corruption Trial

Lawyers for Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) filed a motion in a Newark federal courtroom this week asking for a change of venue in his public corruption trial. Menendez wants the trial to be held in Washington, D.C., not New Jersey, where the indictment was filed on April 1. Attorneys for his co-defendant, Florida opthalmologist Dr. Salomon Melgen, joined in the request.

CFPB Now Regulating Potholes

This foray into the potholes and backroads of Tennessee is a new area of regulatory control, even for the CFPB. But, as American Banker reported, Congress granted the CFPB the authority to do so in an obscure passage of the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010, known more commonly as the Dodd-Frank Act.

Federal Judge Denies Bond for Dr. Salomon Melgen, He Remains in Florida Jail

Facing a possible lifetime sentence on the Medicare fraud charges, and an equally lengthy sentence in the public corruption charges, Melgen may reconsider how strong those ties of friendship with Sen. Bob Menendez are. Menendez, who is free on bond and continues to conduct his duties as a Senator in Washington, is facing only one trial. Dr. Melgen, in contrast, faces two trials and may not see the outside of a jail cell for a very long time.

Hillary at Mercy of Putin Thanks to Clinton Foundation Donations from Uranium Execs

In a political debacle of her own creation, Clinton now finds herself in a position where, in order to prove that she was not beholden to Uranium One executives for donations made to the Clinton Foundation prior to the CFIUS approval of the sale of their business to a company owned by the Russian government, she is now beholden to the authoritarian leader of that same Russian government.

Clinton Cash Uranium Deal Approved by Foreign Investment Committee 52 Days After Shareholders Finalized Takeover

The speedy approval of the ARMZ-Uranium One transaction (CFIUS Case No. 10-40) raises the possibility that the deal may have received expedited treatment, though the management of Canadian based Uranium One stated in a Management Information Circular/Notice to Shareholders published August 6, 2010 and dated August 3, 2010 that “Uranium One and ARMZ intend to submit a joint voluntary notice with CFIUS during the first week of August 2010.”

Now 14 Known Slaveholding Ancestors of Ben Affleck Throughout the South

Recent research published by the Daily Beast on Tuesday suggests that Benjamin Cole may have been a slaveholder but not a slaveowner, a distinction that may not seem to be a difference to those of us in the modern era, but which would have been significant back in the 1850s. Still, the bottom line on Affleck’s great-great-great grandfather Benjamin Cole is this: he was a slaveholder in 1860, and may have been either a slaveholder or slave owner in 1850, and possibly both.

Former RNC Staffers Join Jeb Bush’s ‘Different’ Presidential Campaign Team as SuperPAC Rakes in Huge Donations

Not only has Jeb Bush’s team developed an integrated campaign strategy among three related organizations that is highly sophisticated, it appears to have been able to staff up almost entirely from existing relationships within the RNC and Republican establishment. In contrast, Marco Rubio is apparently the only other candidate to date who has landed a staffer with a high profile RNC pedigree.
