Jonathan Gruber Faces Questions About ‘Phantom Billing’ and Tax Reporting

On Monday Darcie Johnston, head of Vermonters for Health Care Freedom, told Breitbart News that Gruber may have a “phantom billing” problem. It centers around whether Gruber actually paid $80,000 to assistants. In addition to the state of Vermont, the state of Minnesota, the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee have confirmed and the Inspector General’s Office of the Department of Health and Human Services is considering conducting inquiries into Gruber’s billing practices and consulting contracts.

Vermont State Auditor: Jonathan Gruber Response to Contract Investigation ‘Unsatisfactory’

The odds that Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber may face charges for padding invoices are going up. Gruber has been paid $160,000 by the state of Vermont, $80,000 of which is for 800 hours of work he claimed in an invoice was performed by unnamed research assistants. But so far Gruber has failed to provide evidence that these research assistants actually exist and did in fact perform work under the contract.

Immigration Expert: McCaul’s House Border Security Bill ‘An Empty Green Suit’

Jessica Vaughan, Director of Policy at the Center Immigration Studies calls the border security bill proposed by Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX) that will be considered by the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday “an empty green suit.” Vaughan noted that McCaul’s bill, “proposes to spend $10 billion of taxpayer money without ensuring that a single illegal alien will be sent home.”

29 Single-Payer ‘Community Activists’ Arrested for Disrupting Vermont Governor’s Inauguration

Some 29 protesters will be in a Vermont court next month facing charges ranging from unlawful trespass to resisting arrest. The protesters, organized by the Vermont Workers’ Center, a union-financed “progressive” non-profit that has received regular annual support from a George Soros-backed entity, were arrested in the chambers of the Vermont State Legislature for disrupting the inauguration ceremony of Governor Peter Shumlin (D-VT) on Thursday.

The Forked-Tongue Freshmen Five Who Told Constituents They Would Vote Against Boehner for Speaker Then Broke Their Promises

Six Republican freshmen members of the House of Representatives promised their constituents on the campaign trail they’d vote against Representative John Boehner (R-OH) as Speaker of the House. Five of these freshmen broke their campaign promises and voted “yes” on Tuesday to elect Boehner to a third term as Speaker of the House. In addition to the six who promised their constituents they would vote against Boehner, incoming Republican freshman Alex Mooney (R-WV) broke a Madison Project Candidate Pledge he signed in December 2013 to vote against Boehner.

A spokesperson for Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) confirms that Jerry Jones, owner of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, paid for the private jet that flew Christie from New Jersey to Texas to watch the National Football League playoff game between the Cowboys and the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The value of the round trip chartered flight was estimated to exceed $10,000. The value of the seat to watch the game in Jones’s private suite was estimated at $6,000. Both the round trip flight and Christie’s seat in Jones’s private suite during the game are apparently considered personal gifts from Jones to Christie.

Conservative Activists Fuel Anti-Boehner Rebellion With Letter Calling for His Removal as Speaker
