WSJ: More Americans Self-Identifying as Liberal

A slight uptick has been found in those Americans self-identifying themselves as liberals. According to three national polls from 2015, the number of people calling themselves liberal rose from 23 percent in 2014 to 26 percent in 2015. The percentage of those calling themselves liberal, conservative or moderate had remained steady from 2010-2014, but in the last year, the percentage of conservatives dropped from 37 percent to 33 percent.

Drought: Lake San Antonio to Be Closed

After considering their budget and the severe statewide drought on Thursday, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors announced that Lake San Antonio, which is located partly in southern Monterey County and partly in northern San Luis Obispo County, will be closed this summer on its south and north shores starting July 1.

ICE Issues Detainer for Washington D.C. Mass Murderer

Darron Delon Dennis Wint, a Guyana native accused of the gruesome multiple murders on May 14 of a Washington, D.C. couple, their 10-year-old son, and the housekeeper, will be taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) once he is released from jail, where he has been ordered confined by a judge.

The editorial staff at Gawker Media has become the first digital newsroom in the country to unionize, with 75% of voters agreeing to be represented by the Writers Guild of America, East if collective bargaining should be necessary. CAPS Accused of Blaming California Immigrants for Drought

Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS), a group worried about Senate Bill 4, the measure recently passed that would enable undocumented immigrants to buy health insurance on the state exchange, has rereleased a thirty-second ad urging the slowing of immigration that has been attacked by critics for connecting the surge in immigrants to the paucity of water available in the state.

Vandals Leave Swastika on High School Field after Graduation

Over the weekend, a giant swastika made of removable, snap-together tiles was placed on the football field at El Camino High School in South San Francisco. The school had just celebrated graduation ceremonies on Friday. Residents saw the swastika over the weekend, but custodians only discovered the swastika on Monday, whereupon they told school officials and subsequently removed it.
