Planned Parenthood is worried that they may be targeted and outed again, this time for performing sex-selection abortions. They are accusing Lila Rose, the head of Live Action, the pro-life group that exposed victims of rape and sex-trafficking hiding their pregnancies by abortions through Planned Parenthood, of sending volunteers to various Planned parenthood clinics to ask about aborting a fetus because it’s a girl.
Planned Parenthood spokesperson Chloe Cooney claimed that clinics in at least 11 states have reported more than two dozen fake visits where a woman entered the clinic and asked questions designed to elicit whether Planned Parenthood would perform such abortions. Cooney stated:
For years opponents of reproductive health and Planned Parenthood have engaged in secret videotaping tactics with fictitious patient scenarios and selective editing in an attempt to promote misinformation about Planned Parenthood and our services. As with the prior instances, we anticipate that once again this group, likely in coordination with a broad range of anti-abortion leaders, will soon launch a propaganda campaign with the goal of discrediting Planned Parenthood, and, ultimately, restricting women’s health.
Planned Parenthood cannot prove that Live Action is responsible for the visits. Patient privacy laws prohibit Planned Parenthood from offering specific details about the visits and where they occurred. Still, Cooney is convinced Live Action is behind all of this; she said that the recent series of visits “follows their pattern exactly.”
Lila Rose wouldn’t confirm whether they were involved: “Live Action’s policy is not to comment on or confirm ongoing investigative research until its conclusion and public release,” she said.
Planned Parenthood has tried to head Live Action off at the pass before: they spoke with the Washington Post prior to Live Action releasing the sex trafficking videos showing Planned Parenthood staffers arranging abortions for victims.
If it turns out that Planned Parenthood is aiding in the sex-selective abortion of females, it could rightly be called a war on unborn women.
