FCC: 'All Options' On Table To Save Bankrupt LightSquared's Network

According to Mindel De La Torre, chief of the FCC’s International Bureau, the Federal Communications Commission will continue “to consider all options for addressing this” – “this” being LightSquared’s big blueprint for high-speed wireless network installation. As the Hill reports:

LightSquared filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday due to the regulatory obstacles facing their business. Company officials said the move would help fend off creditors as it tries to find a solution for its network.

The Obama administration has been notoriously close-mouthed about its treatment of LightSquared; Republicans accuse the FCC’s “rushed review” of LightSquared’s network problems of costing investors billions of dollars. The FCC’s statement that they will seemingly do anything to save LightSquared’s network should raise Republican hackles even further.
