Booker Scapegoats Communications Director After Bain Capital Fiasco

Last week, Newark Mayor Corey Booker appeared on Meet The Press, where he stated that it was “nauseating” how the Obama campaign was attacking Mitt Romney over Bain Capital. The Obama campaign immediately fired back, and with its friends in the media, pressured Booker to back off his comments – which Booker did.

But that wasn’t enough.

So this week, Anna Torres, Booker’s communications director, resigned from Booker’s office. Insiders reported that she was the scapegoat for Booker’s nationally televised booboo. “I just decided it is best if I pursued other opportunities,” Torres said. “We have very different views on how communications should be run.” Presumably, Torres thinks the Newark Mayor’s office shouldn’t be run out of the White House.
