Queens Teacher Banned for Inappropriate Behavior in Sex Ed

Dyrel Bartee, a teacher at Grover Cleveland High School in Queens, NY, has been banned from all city schools after his behavior in sex education class. He was accused of illustrating childbirth by spreading his legs and grabbing his crotch to explain STDs.

Students of Bartee were disturbed by him. “I seen it for myself, he was a creep. The way he looked at girls wasn’t appropriate, and me, I really didn’t feel comfortable. But I didn’t really say anything,” said Leslie Sanchez.

Eddie Rosales, whose daughter was a student of Bartee’s, said, “It’s crazy because I have a daughter and I don’t want her to go through this. She goes to public school, I want to be careful.”

Recently another teacher, Rafael Sosa, was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a female student. Ten New York City teachers have been arrested on sexual misconduct charges in 2012.
