Romney Uses… Hillary Clinton to Attack Obama

Fact checkers have determined that attacks President Barack Obama and his campaign used to describe Mitt Romney’s outsourcing record were misleading and untrue.

And in a new advertisement that will run in key swing states, the Romney campaign used none other than Hillary Clinton against Obama.

“Shame on you, Barack Obama,” Clinton said in 2008 to Barack Obama while accusing Obama of spending “millions of dollars perpetuating falsehoods.”

The ad employs footage of Clinton saying those words.

“But that’s Barack Obama,” a narrator says. “He also attacked Hillary Clinton with vicious lies.”

The Obama campaign painted Romney as an outsourcer to turn off the blue collar voters who are running away from Obama. Those are the same voters that favored Clinton over Obama during the 2008 Democratic primaries.

“He continues to spend millions of dollars perpetuating falsehoods,” Clinton says in an old piece of footage.

By reminding blue collar swing voters in swing states such as Iowa, North Carolina and Virginia — states in which the advertisement will run — how much trouble Obama had with them even in the Democratic primary in 2008, and how easily the Obama campaign spins facts, Romney will better be able to move more of these swing voters, many of whom are disaffected Democrats, into his column.
