Ten days ago, Mitt Romney selected Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as his running mate. The duo went to Virginia and North Carolina and energized the party. They put Democrats on defense, forcing them to talk about the country’s debt and keeping Medicare solvent.
The mainstream media has tried to use the recent Akin controversy to steer the narrative away from the economy to give the Obama/Biden ticket some cover. We will see if the Akin distraction overshadow Ryan’s return trip to Virginia (Roanoke) and North Carolina (Raleigh) on Wednesday. Ryan will hold campaign events in both cities as the Romney-Ryan ticket tries to get back the momentum they lost over the weekend.
Mitt Romney will campaign in Bettendorf, Iowa at LeClare Manufacturing and then attend a fundraiser in Arkansas. Iowa, a state in which Obama once led comfortably, has now essentially become a toss-up state. Iowa launched Obama to the Democratic nomination and presidency, the voters there may feel guilty about being responsible for the damage Obama’s policies have inflicted.
Vice President Joe Biden has been sent to a safe blue state and will be in Detroit.
Obama, along with some NBA legends, will host the “Obama Classic” basketball tournament and fundraiser in Chelsea Piers in New York. Obama will play with some ex-NBA stars who want to relive some of their glory days much like Obama wants to relive 2008. The Obama campaign has been coy about the details of the basketball event, but former and current NBA stars such as Michael Jordan, Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing and John Wall will reportedly partake.
Wall, who plays for the Washington Wizards, recently tweeted that he was looking forward to a “night of basketball” and Obama “at the Obama Classic.” Wall also on Tuesday tweeted, “NY !!”, presumably signifying his arrival in New York for the Obama Classic. Wall’s tweets can be seen below:

While other celebrity attendees have not yet been announced, the confirmed guest list of the event when it was first scheduled for 2001 included: Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Vince Carter, Tyson Chandler, Jamal Crawford, Kevin Durant, Baron Davis, Patrick Ewing, Derek Fisher, Rudy Gay, Blake Griffin, Tyler Hansbrough, Dwight Howard, Juwan Howard, Antawn Jamison, Dahntay Jones, Brandon Knight, Kevin Love, Jamal Mashburn, Cheryl Miller, Reggie Miller, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Chris Paul, Quentin Richardson, Doc Rivers, Steve Smith, Jerry Stackhouse, Amare Stoudemire, Tina Thompson, John Wall, and Russell Westbrook.
