Thursday: Romney in NM to Talk Energy; Obama at WH

On Thursday, Mitt Romney will give an important speech about energy in which he will offer solutions to achieve energy independence by 2020 and put America on the path of becoming an energy superpower in the 21st century.  It will be interesting to see if the mainstream media covers this substantive address.

Romney will deliver his remarks in Hobbs, New Mexico. His campaign released a policy paper  and Yahoo! reports Romney will say he propose giving states the power to allow drilling on federal lands within their borders.

President Barack Obama, after a night in which he hosted a basketball fundraiser in New York with former NBA players like Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning, and Vice President Joe Biden will receive an intelligence briefing at the White House, which again inserts national security issues into the campaign narrative. Biden also will reportedly meet with senior advisers in the evening.

Paul Ryan will attend a roundtable discussion of defense industry issues in North Carolina. Ryan also has a fundraiser scheduled in Missouri, which may give the mainstream media another excuse to keep talking about Rep. Todd Akin’s rape comments.
