Jesse Jackson: Maybe Founding Fathers Shouldn't Have Referenced 'Creator' in Declaration

With the boos and hisses that accompanied the vote to add “God” back to the DNC platform still fresh on everybody’s mind, Jesse Jackson decided our Founding Fathers might have done wiser by leaving references to God out of our founding documents.

Jackson did this on Wednesday night, in response to Sean Hannity’s question: “Will this be the time we remember as that in which God was…booed at the Democrat convention?”

Jackson first responded by saying: “It’s not the name ‘God’ but the will of God that’s at stake here,” and the important thing is “that we feed the hungry and defend the poor.” At that Hannity stopped him and said “We’re not talking about feeding the hungry [but] about the Democrat Party today.”

Hannity then referenced the importance of God as our Creator in the Declaration of Independence, and Jackson said: “Maybe there shouldn’t have been the word ‘Creator’ there in the first place.”

In other news, Jackson also said, “our economy is coming back, our troops have come home, and more Americans have health coverage now.” (I wonder if any of our troops in Afghanistan are reading this?)
