Magic Johnson Comes Out for Obama

Here’s the Obama campaign’s latest personal e-mail — from Magic Johnson.

In basketball, getting ready for the big game takes years of hard work on the court and in the weight room.

Well, we know all the years of hard work your buddy Obama did in the working world to get ahead, Magic. He really sweated it.

But getting ready to vote? Now that’s easy — and this year it’s more important than I can ever remember.

So much is on the line this election — from good, affordable education to equal rights for all — and it’s up to us to deliver the win for President Obama.

He sure has made education better in his first four years, Magic. And as far as equal rights, why, it’s clear that the right to religious freedom is important to your man; just look at how he wants to require Catholic institutions to pay for contraception. And his defense of free speech in the anti-Islam video was nothing short of astonishing!

If there’s one thing I learned on the court, it’s that people can always achieve more when they’re working together as one team. That’s the vision President Obama has for our country — and that’s why it’s so important for us to vote in this election. I couldn’t be prouder to have a president who stands up for the middle class and provides a good role model for us all. It doesn’t hurt that he knows how to make a jump shot, too.

Working together as a team? Uhh … how many Republicans voted for ObamaCare? ZERO.

A good role model? The man plays golf more than he governs, bows to foreign dictators, and ruthlessly disregards the Constitution.

He knows how to make a good jump shot?

Whoa, now, that’s impressive. Of course, he also throws a baseball like a girl.

So I’m going to tell you the same thing I always tell younger players: Make sure you’re ready for game day.

This thing happens to be the future of this country, Magic, not some basketball game. And if you really knew what you were talking about, you’d know that if your jump-shot president is reelected, the United States will crumble. To use a phrase you can understand, that’s a slam-dunk.
