Tammy Baldwin Sets Benchmark for Far-Left Ideologues

Tammy Baldwin’s record is so vehemently leftist that it’s difficult to understand if she lives in a reality-based world.  Baldwin, as noted here, has long been sponsoring efforts for a Peace Department that would undermine American strength, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s more – a lot more.

Baldwin has also co-sponsored legislation on multiple occasions to create a separate tax system that allowed people who are opposed to wars to have their taxes placed in to systems that did not fund wars in any way. In Session 109, she was part of sponsoring HR 2631, the Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund Act, which read:

To affirm the religious freedom of taxpayers who are conscientiously opposed to participation in war, to provide that the income, estate, or gift tax payments of such taxpayers be used for nonmilitary purposes, to create the Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund to receive such tax payments, to improve revenue collection, and for other purposes.

She followed that in session 111 with this, HR 2085: in 2009.

Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to establish in the Treasury the Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund for the deposit of income, gift, and estate taxes paid by or on behalf of taxpayers: (1) who are designated conscientious objectors opposed to participation in war in any form based upon their deeply held moral, ethical, or religious beliefs or training (within the meaning of the Military Selective Service Act); and (2) who have certified their beliefs in writing to the Secretary.

She opposes drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) or the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) because it would threaten the caribou. One problem: scientific research shows the drilling would warm the environment and contribute to more caribou being bred.

On marriage, Baldwin, who is openly lesbian, called for letting the states deal with it without calling for a constitutional amendment. Then, when it started to become clear most states didn’t favor same-sex marriage, she co-sponsored the Respect for Marriage Act, which prevented a state from protecting itself and defining marriage for itself.

She issued a statement the day after the Benghazi attack, without waiting for any evidence, that the assault was the work of a mob, and not a preplanned assault.

No money for military defense, no drilling to reduce dependence on foreign oil, cutting the states out of the marriage issue because she didn’t like their stance, and denying the reality of terror organizations out to kill us.

Baldwin passes the test of radical leftism with flying colors.
