Chicago School District Sics Collection Agency on Parents

My, what two years of an Obama economy can do to a school district.

In School District 214 of Illinois, which encompasses the Chicago suburbs of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Des Plaines, parents who have been lax about paying school fees and fines will soon be hearing from a collection agency. It’s no small sum the parents owe; the district is owed over $300,000. It was only $32,000 two years ago.

The funds include fines on unpaid registration fees and fines from things like overdue library books, student privileges such as parking or fees for proms.
