While other conservatives are considering a coup d’etat against House Speaker John Boehner on Thursday, House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) plans to support the embattled Ohio Republican.
“He will support and vote for Mr. Boehner for Speaker,” Issa spokesman Frederick Hill told Breitbart News of Issa’s plans for tomorrow.
Unlike Boehner, Issa voted against the “fiscal cliff” deal Vice President Joe Biden cut with Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in the House Tuesday night. The rest of Boehner’s senior GOP leadership team voted against the bill.
Issa was the senior-most Republican to take the House floor to argue against the bill.
