Cruz: 'No Reason' to Vote on Hagel Until Senate Sees Records

In the aftermath of the Senate’s decision to postpone a vote on Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Secretary of Defense, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said in a statement, “There is no reason to rush his nomination to a vote until he has adequately responded to multiple requests from members of the Armed Services Committee for additional information.”

Cruz pointed out that both Senator Hillary Clinton and Henry Kissinger were asked questions about foreign funding as well. “Sen. Hagel,” said Cruz, “should not be held to a lesser standard.” Cruz promised a vote on Hagel’s nomination should he turn over the requested documents.
