Feds Spend $1.5M to Study Fat Lesbians

The National Institutes of Health have now dedicated $1.5 million to studying one of life’s greatest mysteries: why are lesbians fat?

As the Daily Mail reports, studies show that three quarters of American lesbians are obese. That, of course, requires further investigation at taxpayer expense. So the NIH signed a check to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston to look at the connection between lesbianism and fat, as opposed to the converse relationship between male homosexuality and obesity.

The grant states: “One area that is only beginning to be recognized is the striking interplay of gender and sexual orientation in obesity disparities. It is now well-established that women of minority sexual orientation are disproportionately affected by the obesity epidemic.”

The project will take five years.
