'Boomtown 2' Exposé More Important After Dismal March Jobs Report

The dismal March jobs report that saw 663,000 workers give up and leave the workforce, bringing the labor force participation rate to its lowest point since 1979, makes the findings of a blockbuster new exposé, “Boomtown 2: The Business of Food Stamps,” even more important.

The show, “Sean Hannity Special–Boomtown 2: The Business of Food Stamps,” will air on Fox News’ Hannity at 9 PM ET on Friday.

As more Americans give up looking for work, there will be a greater number who will be dependent on food stamps. While the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) exists as a safety net to help vulnerable Americans not go hungry, the special examines how the country’s wealthiest crony capitalists and corporations, along with liberals who want to expand government, are abusing the program to enrich themselves.

Instead of seeking to help vulnerable Americans reduce their dependence on government and become more self-sufficient, crony capitalists on the left and right often see the poorest Americans as a source of profit.

“What companies have realized is there’s good money to be made in the poverty industry,” said the Government Accountability Institute co-founder Peter Schweizer. “Shrinking the size of government will only occur when we reduce the incentives corporations and individuals have to see government swell.”

Schweizer will be joined by director and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon on the show, along with Sonnie Johnson and Kerry Picket from Breitbart News, David Webb, Karen Hanretty, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, Fox News Contributor Deroy Murdoch, Americans For Prosperity’s Jennifer Stefano, and others.

As Breitbart News reported, the expose looks at how crony capitalists and liberals who want to expand the size of government collude to “to expand a program that puts more Americans on the welfare rolls while fattening their wallets to the tune of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.

The Government Accountability Institute, “a nonpartisan government investigative group devoted to exposing government corruption and cronyism involving taxpayer dollars,” teamed up with Bannon for the highly-rated and acclaimed “”Boomtown 1: Washington, The Imperial City.”

That special “exposed the cronyism and luxurious lifestyle of Washington, DC’s power elite,” and Boomtown 2 exposes how the same interests take advantage of the food stamp program to use “the poor and the taxpayers” as pawns to enrich themselves.

As Breitbart News noted, “three of Bannon’s past films–Generation Zero, District of Corruption, and The Hope and The Change–have previously been the subject of highly rated one-hour Hannity specials.”
