Priest Requests Bodies of Babies from Gosnell Clinic for Burial

Father Frank Pavone, head of the Pro-Life Group Priests for Life, has requested court officials in the murder trial of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell provide the bodies of the babies found at the clinic so that he can give them a proper burial.

According to LifeNews.com, Pavone asked if he could obtain the babies’ remains after all the court proceedings are finished. The defense rested on Wednesday without calling any witnesses on Gosnell’s behalf. Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday.

“These are not just medical waste,” said Pavone. “These are human bodies–real human beings were killed.”

Pavone said that he requested the remains of the babies for two reasons.

“One, to properly honor these children, of course, who have been dishonored by what Gosnell did,” he said. “And, secondly, to alert the public and to raise the consciousness that we are talking about real killings here.”

Pavone said that the medical examiner would get back to him regarding his request. In addition, Pavone has requested of the judge a meeting with Gosnell, if he would be willing to speak with him.
