Tea Party Patriots Rallies Grassroots Against Immigration Bill

Tea Party Patriots is urging its activists to conduct a series of action items throughout the week to help oppose the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill.

On Monday, the group recommends Tea Partiers write blog posts, Facebook posts, and letters to the editor that incorporate its talking points to argue the bill’s process is “too rushed” and is being passed with a “lack of transparency” and “lack of accountability,” while setting aside the notions of “security first” and “fiscal responsibility.”

In an infographic, Tea Party Patriots compares the immigration bill and its process to the Obamacare bill from 2009 and its process.

Throughout the week, the group recommends other action items for Tea Partiers nationwide, including a “Social Media Blitz” on Tuesday, a focus on phoning Senators on Wednesday, and street rallies at busy intersections throughout the country on Thursday evening.

The overall theme fits with Tea Party Patriots’ “#DCIntervention” protests a couple weeks ago, and the group is calling this push against the immigration bill its “No More Train Wrecks” campaign.

Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin told Breitbart News that her group has “put together an Amnesty bill weekly action plan, including the tools to get the job done, to help Americans across the country fight back against the next train wreck coming out of Washington, DC.”

“It’s apparent that, left to their own devices, DC politicians will cram whatever they want down our throats, regardless of whether or not it’s the right thing for our country,” Martin said. “It’s time for the people, once again, to stage an intervention like we did in 2009 and 2010, and tell our Senators, no more train wrecks! Join TPP for our #DCintervention!”

The Tea Party Patriots action week comes as Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY), Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) have launched efforts to oppose the Gang of Eight immigration legislation.
