Congress Pounds IRS on Whether Multiple Agencies Involved in IRS Scandal

Within days of Breitbart News revealing the intrusive actions of multiple federal agencies towards Catherine Engelbrecht and her True the Vote organization, the House Ways and Means Committee pounded the IRS with questions about other agencies’ possible involvement in harassing True the Vote as a result of their application for tax-exempt status.

Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) cited the details of True the Vote and King Street Patriots founder Catherine Engelbrecht’s experiences as reported by Breitbart News in his questioning of outgoing IRS Commissioner Steven Miller.

The agencies implicated in scrutinizing Engelbrecht’s organization include: two Department of Justice (DOJ) offices; the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF); the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); and the Texas Commission on Environment Quality (TCEQ). The IRS was implicated further in that Engelbrecht’s personal finances were audited in addition to IRS audits of her small family business.
