Cody Tubman is the happy prom queen of Middleboro High in Boston, Massachusetts. There’s only one catch: Cody is a guy, at least biologically. Cody was born male, but began wearing women’s clothing at the beginning of high school. Cody says his/her classmates and teachers were supportive of the move. “It was kind of a like a realization that people are accepting and it doesn’t really matter to them,” said Cody. “So it was a good feeling.”
After graduation, Cody will head to New York to study performing arts. “I want people to understand,” Cody explained, “that you might be in a bad situation, but there’s going to be a point where you can look how you want and express yourself.”
