Sen. Mike Lee: 'Most' Immigration Bill Advocates 'Have Not Read It'

During an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s radio program Wednesday morning, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said most people in Congress trying to rush the Senate’s immigration bill have not even read the legislation.

“Most of those in Congress calling to pass this bill have not read it,” Lee said.

He also labeled the way Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and other “Gang of Eight” members have handled the crafting of the bill, and the general argument for immigration reform, as “nonsensical.”

“One of my frustrations with this bill is that it proceeds with the idea that we cannot get anything done unless we get all of it done,” Lee said.
