CBS News reports on Tuesday morning that federal officials are already preparing charges against National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden. Snowden revealed his identity on Sunday, stating, “I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong.”
Hong Kong does have an extradition treaty with the United States, although China has veto power over issues that could be considered political or defense-related. The NSA has already filed a criminal report with the Department of Justice. Politicians ranging from Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) to Senator Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) have accused Snowden of treason.
