A Gallup poll released Tuesday revealed that Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) is actually more popular among Democrats than Republicans. He scores a favorable/unfavorable rating of 53 percent to 25 percent among Republicans; he scores a 57 percent to 17 percent split among Democrats.
Highest on the list among Republicans is Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who clocks in at 69 percent to 12 percent, followed by Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) (58 percent to 11 percent), Senator Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) (56 percent to 13 percent), and Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) (40 percent to 8 percent). Unsurprisingly, all the other candidates on the list score particularly low with Democrats; the closest to even is Sen. Rubio (21 percent favorable to 34 percent unfavorable). All five candidates are in positive favorability position with the public at large.
