NRA Ties WV Sen. Manchin to Obama, Bloomberg on Gun Control

Over the next two weeks, the NRA will run an ad in West Virginia with this message: Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) posed as pro-gun to get elected but is “now working with President Obama and New York Mayor Bloomberg.”

The ad shows Manchin holding a gun during a 2010 campaign commercial, saying, “As your Senator I’ll protect our 2nd Amendment rights.” The NRA says that was “Joe Manchin’s commitment” then, but it all changed once he got to DC.

Manchin recently paired with Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) to present a “compromise” on gun control measures such as universal background checks, but the legislation failed in the Senate.

The ad’s narrator rhetorically asks, “Are you concerned? You should be.”

The NRA asks West Virginians to listen carefully to what Obama, Bloomberg, and Manchin want to do to citizens’ gun rights, then call Manchin’s office and tell him to abandon his push for more gun control.
