On Monday afternoon, pro-life supporters confronted pro-abortion activists at the Texas statehouse as the legislature met. A special session had been called by Gov. Rick Perry (R) to pass a ban on abortions past 20 weeks of pregnancy and to ensure that abortion clinics meet the standards of care of other ambulatory surgical clinics.
According to the Washington Examiner, as pro-abortion activists chanted, the pro-life groups sang the hymn “Amazing Grace” to drown out the voices of those opposed to the bill.
Last week, an unruly mob of abortion supporters prevented a vote on the bill after a filibuster by state Sen. Wendy Davis (D).
