Obama Tells Kids His Favorite Food Is Broccoli

Barack Obama stopped by the second annual Kids’ State Dinner on Tuesday, an event his wife Michelle hosted in the East Room of the White House. Obama had a few choice words for the kids: “Food can be fun, it can be healthy. You are setting up habits that are going to be great your entire life.” Obama, wanting to give the politically correct answer to the question of what his favorite food was, answered, “Broccoli.”

The backlash on Twitter was huge, as “Broccoli” immediately trended. More interestingly, Obama sycophants knew to mildly mock him on the trivial issue so they could look non-partisan without doing their hero any real damage. Examples:

Comedy Central’s Indecision: “Obama tells kid journalist his favorite food is broccoli. And his favorite activity is lying to children.”

Buzzfeed Obama-sycophant Andrew Kaczynski: “Our first broccoli president,”

Obama-outlet Politico: “What’s Obama’s favorite food? Hint: It is the same vegetable George H.W. Bush denounced over two decades ago.

David Plouffe, Obama’s former campaign manager: “All GOP 2016ers will now have to pledge to never eat broccoli again. Maybe a new angle for Grover [Norquist].”

Ezra Klein: “Everyone CALM DOWN! We have charts about broccoli.”

However, Slate’s Dave Weigel didn’t get the memo, tweeting: “This broccoli discussion is more proof that you could fire half the press corps at random and America would be fine.”
