Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) told Breitbart News on Monday at the D.C. March for Jobs rally that America’s leaders had a “moral obligation” to stick up for working class Americans and oppose the Senate’s immigration bill instead of kowtowing to the so-called “Masters of the Universe” who want the legislation passed to flood the labor market with more cheap labor.
Sessions, who was hailed at the rally for his fierce opposition to the immigration bill, spoke to Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen Bannon on Breitbart News’ exclusive broadcast of the D.C. Jobs for March Rally. In his remarks, Sessions addressed working class Americans of all races and backgrounds who came to D.C. to stand up against the immigration bill.
He said those who support the free market should know that “huge increases in labor pulls down wages of working americans.
He said the country had a “moral obligation” to stick up for working class Americans, the people who fought its wars and serve it, who make up much of Middle America. In particular, Sessions mentioned the African-Americans in his home state of Alabama who are struggling for jobs, whose lives he said the Senate’s immigration bill would worsen.
“The interest of international corporations are not the same as the interest of Middle American working people,” Sessions said, noting the country has to strike the “right balance” and consider the “human interest” in working class Americans in passing legislation.
He noted that every Democrat in the Senate voted for a bill that would “pull down wages of their constituents,” even while purporting to stick up for the working class.
Sessions said the so-called “Masters of the Universe” who spend their days in suites on Wall Street skimming money off of transactions see everything as “transactional” and just do not care about interests of working class Americans.
