Steve King: 'Cross section of America' rallying at March For Jobs to kill amnesty

As he was leading the March For Jobs down Pennsylvania Avenue from Freedom Plaza to Capitol Hill, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told Breitbart News he views this event a successful blow to the special interests in Washington, D.C., pushing for amnesty.

“I think that first of all we have a cross-section of America in this march today,” King said of the crowd who marched behind him. “These are the people that built this country. They did it with brains and sweat.”

Through the blistering heat, King added: “I’m glad that it’s hot today because there are a lot of brains that are breaking a sweat.”

“It says something that we’re happy and proud to work to build America,” King said. “We don’t want to hand it over. We don’t want to sacrifice the rule of law. And we don’t want to fund 80 different means-tested welfare programs in the United States with money borrowed from China. That’s what those open borders people think: ‘this can go on forever’ and have 100 million Americans that are of working age that are simply not in the workforce while they input more people for cheap labor.”
