Poll: 85% Say Huma Didn't Help Weiner's Credibility

A new Marist poll shows that despite media attention on the supposed political brilliance of Huma Abedin’s defense of her beleaguered husband, Anthony Weiner, her support has created zero impact on the public perception of Weiner. 73 percent of voters said Abedin’s support had no impact on their trust level for Weiner. 15 percent said her support made them more likely to trust Weiner. 12 percent said it made them less likely to trust Weiner.

“It had no positive impact,” said Marist pollster Lee Miringoff to CBS 2 local. “I think had she not been there and she had not provided the support that she did I think it would have been a disaster for the Weiner campaign. He desperately needed her to say things are good now. But in and of itself it did not turn around perceptions about Anthony Weiner and whether he should be the next mayor.”
