A Super PAC pushing Hillary Clinton for a 2016 White House run has already raised $1 million, reports say.
The “Ready for Hillary” Super PAC began taking donations in April and already claims over 100,000 supporters. The PAC’s Facebook page boasts over 500,000 likes.
Fronted by Allida Black, a George Washington University professor and historian, the Super PAC has already enlisted such well-known operatives as EMILY’s List founder Ellen Malcolm, Democrat strategist James Carville, and former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm.
Former Clinton operatives such as Hillary’s 2008 advisor Harold Ickes, President Clinton’s former White House Political Director Craig Smith, and one-time Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher (D-CA) have also officially signed on with “Ready for Hillary.”
Tauscher feels Hillary is the ocandidate to beat in 2016 and is a proven vote getter.
“Being a voter is not a passive sport,” Tauscher told the media. “What people are saying here is that they are not going sit around and wait for others to shape the race for them.”
Some of Obama’s crew is also jumping on board the Hillary train. The Super PAC has hired 270 Strategies to organize its grassroots efforts. 270 is staffed by a coalition of former Obama campaign aides who defeated Hillary in 2008.
The consultant group is headed by Mitch Stewart, former battleground states director for Obama for America, and Jeremy Bird, former national field director for Obama For America.
